Twenty UXers from across the discipline’s spectrum participated in a five hour Presumptive Design workshop. Hosted by Connective-DX, benefiting CHIFOO and facilitated by Leo, the workshop covered the entire process, including theoretical background and hands-on work with external users.
It was a full agenda:
Theory | Practice | Closure/Wrap-up |
---|---|---|
Intro | The Engagement Session Interview | Break |
What is PrD? | Engagement Session Prep | Debrief/Analysis |
The Design Challenge | Artifact Preparation | Report-outs |
What are Assumptions | Lunch | What is PrD? |
The Importance of Objectives | Artifact Preparation | Evaluation / Books |
Identifying Tasks | Engagement Session | Evaluation / Books |
Identifying Context | Engagement Session | Evaluation / Books |
Attendees learned a lot (according to their feedback forms) – even seasoned professionals came away disoriented and turned upside down – a key intention of the workshop.
“Time was well used”
“Exercises were good and effective, well designed”
